Mid-Week Fashion Inspiration: Dresses with Bows

By  |

Bows may bring us to a time where we play dress up a lot and were giggling little girls but do we really have to give up bows and dressing up now that we are “grown up”? We think not and we quote the very wise words from Kate Spade,

So you’ve guessed it, this week, we’re gonna be sharing all about bows. We were browsing Pinterest when these beautiful bows caught our eyes and we just have to share them with you:

With the addition of a bow to the back of a dress, we find the silhouette to be more playful, pretty and young. It could be a low back dress, a peek-a-boo or none at all. Plus, open back dresses are always in favour in Malaysia due to our tropical climate, making it a great piece to style for afternoon tea, Sundays with girlfriends or even on a romantic date

We reckon every girl should own a dress with a back bow and here are our top 3 picks from across the web:

Jessica Naughty Back Dress

Now one in black cannot go wrong, we love the sexy low back with a subtle bow. A hint of peplum to balance the complete look. If you’re looking for a twist on your usual LBD, this is a great choice to explore!

Shona Bow Back

A bustier top and a skater hem for the young and chic girl. Also, this is a great color to style with because you can go all out with accessories or keep it plain and simple. Have fun experimenting with the various different ways to wear this piece!

Cat’s Lovestruck Dress by Cat in a Bowl

This one here is our favourite of the lot, it’s not your usual open back design but instead the wonderful folks at Cat in a Bowl (yes, it’s an original design!) have decided to pair it with an off shoulder dress. We find that it exudes femininity and is sophisticated at the same time, a design that you can style across various occasions

Now that you’ve seen some of the options available across the web, will you be wearing bows on your dresses? *winks*
