Layering Up with ModCloth

By  |

Have you heard of ModCloth?

ModCloth is a unique online store where retro meets community, curated with love by the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of ModCloth, Susan Gregg Koger. With a touch of vintage flair, ModCloth is a platform that gives the community an opportunity to vote for their favourite designs by taking up the position of the “buyer” and also with all things new, you’ll also be able to shop all things vintage from apparels to home decor

We browsed through their selections and they have got a great collection of cosy knits and sweaters that we just fell in love with. Here are a few looks that we put together with our favourite picks from the site with the theme layering in mind:

ModCloth #1

Checkered top

BLANKNYC shirts top

Grey sleeveless top
90 MYR – modcloth.com

The laidback weekend: A checkered top is an essential for every girl because it works great on its own or as an outerwear when layering for colder temperatures. It’s lightweight and goes well with basic colors, making it extremely easy to style. When indoors or transitioning to slightly warmer temperatures, tie the checkered shirt around your waist to transform your look to fit the scene

ModCloth #2

Red cardigan
215 MYR – modcloth.com

V neck top
90 MYR – modcloth.com

Racerback tank
54 MYR – modcloth.com

Dressing in Pantone 2015: For this look, we had Pantone 2015 in mind. While it’s still rather difficult to identify the right shade of Marsala, we figured we could work around similar hues. When we spotted the red cardigan, which is so on trend with the whole blanket sweater look that everyone has been wearing, other pieces just fell into place to complete the look

ModCloth #3

Party top
125 MYR – modcloth.com

V neck t shirt
72 MYR – modcloth.com

Party top
110 MYR – modcloth.com

Festive: Now for this look, we have the upcoming festivities in mind, Chinese New Year. For casual meet ups and visitations, we reckon we can dial down the traditional wear a notch and opt for something more simple yet chic: midi skirt and cardigan, keeping the colours joyful and bright that can bring us from day to night

How do you layer your daily looks? Always look for versatile staple pieces that you can mix and match to create multiple looks across various occasions. For more cosy layering pieces, check out ModCloth
